How you can use astrology to assess romantic compatibility between partners and predict future experiences in love.

Lately, I’ve been in a no-dating mindset as I’m preparing myself for some major life changes, but that doesn’t mean I’m not wondering when or how I’ll find love again. I’ve learned a lot about what our astrological charts can reveal regarding our future love lives and wanted to discuss that with y’all, as well as compare the differences between spiritual bonds like soulmates, twin flames, and karmic relationships. If you know what to look for, there are certain ways to predict who your “person” could be and how your relationship might develop. If you are already in a relationship, comparing your charts together can also provide insight into your love journey, as well as your overall compatibility.

Remember there’s more to a person than their sun sign, and free will plays a major factor in our relationships as well. A person can choose to not do the work in a relationship with great potential, major life experiences can disrupt your groove, or maybe you just won’t feel the chemistry. Be open-minded to what you might find, but remember to also trust your intuition as you know your heart the best💛.

Important Aspects

Using the natal wheel (astrological) chart, you can find aspects or relationships between the planets in your chart at the time of your birth. This shows how the two planets get along and how those characteristics could be reflected through the relationships you have with yourself and others in your life. For now, we can look at my chart from Astro-Seek as an example. The gray lines going through the center of the charts with different shapes represent the aspects: 

The 5 major aspects are:

1. Conjunction ☌: Planets within 0-10° of each other amplify each other, suggesting areas of intensity in your life. (ex. My Cancer Venus and Cancer Mars)
2.  Sextile ⚹: Planets that are 60° apart are collaborative; showing two experiences that want to happen together. (ex. My Pisces Jupiter and Aquarius Neptune)
3. Square □: Planets that are 90° apart suggest competitive experiences, creating tension and creativity. (ex. My Leo Sun and Taurus Saturn)
4. Trine △: Planets that are 120° apart that are complementary; these experiences come easily to you and are most likely unconscious. (ex. My Libra Moon and Aquarius Uranus)
5. Opposition ☍: Planets that are 180° apart are disintegrated, two planets that are very different and cause a push and pull force. There are gaps in understanding in these experiences and they ask us to get curious and find a way to unify them. (ex. My Leo Sun and Aquarius Neptune)

Experiences of the Planets

The planets with short orbits are referred to as the inner planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) and move across the zodiac frequently and directly impact our day-to-day experiences. The outer planets, or those with longer orbits (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) change signs every 1 to 30 years and define the more general and larger themes, as well as experiences shared by generations.

The experiences you receive from each planet are:
- Sun ☉︎: Self
- Moon ☽︎: Emotion, instincts, habits
- Mercury ☿: Expression
- Venus ♀: Love, beauty, 
- Mars ♂: Passion, desire, aggression
- Jupiter ♃: Expansion, optimism, abundance
- Saturn ♄: Structure, restriction, pessimism
- Pluto ♇: Loss, death, rebirth, transformation
- Uranus ♅: Independence, rebellion, eccentricity
- Neptune ♆: Dreaming, imagination
- Chiron ⚷: Healing
- Nodes ☋ ☊ : Lifelong growth, potential (north) and karmic past (south)
